It's that time of year when the water at the dog park gets turned OFF for the season. Starting today (11/14/25), there is NO water. The dog park will still be open, but you will have to bring your own water for your furry friends 🐕

Building Inspector/Code Enforcement/ Fire Inspector
The Village of Ravena is seeking a qualified individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our team as a Building Inspector, Code Enforcement Officer, and Fire Inspector.
Job Specifics:
- Building Inspector: this position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of buildings and structures within our community. It is a competitive position under Albany County Civil Service.
- Code Enforcement Officer: enforce local laws, codes and regulations related to properties, businesses, and town parks, including issuing warnings citations, or take other actions to assist in or facilitate the prosecution of all Village code violations. Must be able to collaborate with Village attorney, and law enforcement, as needed, to address community issues.
- Fire Inspector: ensure buildings meet fire codes and regulations and perform fire safety maintenance inspections; also, respond to emergency fire calls 24/7, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 4 years’ experience in building construction
- OR possession of a current NYS Basic Code Enforcement Certificate
Village Specifics:
- 30 +/- hours per week
- NYS Retirement
- A Village truck is available for use during daytime work hours
- A valid NYS Driver’s License is required
- Salary commensurate with experience/education
- Background Checking: Applicants will be subject to a pre-employment background check

Effective WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2025, the Village of Ravena and all of its
water districts (any users in Coeymans and New Baltimore) are under water
restrictions until further notice.
**Water restrictions include: NO sprinkling devices at ANY time. Handheld
watering ONLY. Hand watering of lawns, flowers, gardens, etc. ONLY between
the hours of 6 am to 9 am AND 6 pm to 9 pm daily.
The water restriction will remain in effect until the necessary upgrades to our
water plant are complete.
